What I Do
Since 2014, I’ve been making videos for educators, kids, non-profits, startups and businesses. This year I’ve started writing/drawing books for kids, too.
About rachel…
Rachel is the founder, owner, and principal animator of Blue Seat Studios. Rachel is a former researcher and an educator, having taught physiology, biology and math at both the high school and college level. She has a B.A. in Biology from Brown University and an M.Ed. in educational psychology. She is a lifelong artist who has worked in print illustration, design and graphic recording.
Through writing books and making videos, Rachel has found a way to combine her love of making art with her passion for distilling complex concepts and using humor to educate people of all ages.
She lives in Rhode Island with a passel of children, a couple of dogs, and her partner. She also really likes kickboxing.
MY Mission
My mission is to teach big ideas through humor. Why? Because it’s fun! While I’m at it, I also want to make stuff that makes a difference.
I believe that even the most serious subjects can be treated with humor and compassion.
I use hand-drawn art and animation to bring stories to viewers in a very down-to-earth and human way. Making the world a better place doesn’t have to be boring or preachy.
